Oh, you guys are my favorites! Thank you, thank you everyone for posting really great comments and suggestions for the Fall menu.
At first, every comment was like, "Pumpkin chocolate chip!", "Pumpkin Chocolate Chip sounds good!", "What about Pumpkin Chocolate Chip?" and "Oh! Have you thought of pumpkin chocolate chip?!" I was beginning to think it was the only seasonal thing you guys were into, which was fine by me! But then a lot more ideas started rolling in and I want you to know that I've been playing around with the ingredient combos you guys suggested. It has been fun making things that I know will excite you and I'm not totally hating the flavors. Sorry! That's the best I can do with anything involving pumpkin.
Which leads me to my lunch today. I'm sitting at Le Pain Quotidien in the Village working on a secret project on my computer (details soon!) and take a glance at the menu. They have a gluten-free vegen quiche on the menu so I ordered it out of curiosity. Despite the fact that it has pureed pumpkin and a slight Thanksgiving-y finish on my palette, it's really good! I took a pic of it, like a total blogger to show you. It was definitely worth trying. I know there are a ton of small cafes and restaurants around the country that do gluten-free, vegan dishes but it's interesting to see a chain restaurant do it nicely. They have a number of locations that you can check out here .
Do you have a favorite spot for finds like this? I want to hear it! I'm traveling a lot lately and often find myself looking for options without any luck. So, let's hear it!

Best thing is, Le Pain Quotidien is all over the world!
Elizabeth - but not necessarily vegan friendly all over the world. The one in London point blank refused to make breakfest oatmeal for me without dairy milk!
However, this quiche looks amazing!
Fatty's restaurant in Eagle rock (LA), CA has incredible vegan & vegetarian meals & off the charts desserts.
Follow Your Heart in Canoga Park (LA), CA is a fantastic easy going cafe & natural market that is solar powered too.
I love Follow Your Heart's Veganaise!
Tried the apple muffins. I was amazed at how wonderful they are. Had one for breakfast and didn't have a hypoglycemia attack an hour later! Yum.
I have been meaning to check out this quiche for a long time -- good to know that it is delicious! excited for you in LA

I'm with you on the pumpkin thing! Please don't add too much of it to the menu.
I just heard about you from a friend this week, and am planning to brave the rain to make it to your shop this weekend. I've also just been reading the blog, and want to make a humble request for soy-free vegan pumpkin pie! (Yes, I read about the pumpkin dislike - but consider that *everyone* making vegan pumpkin pie uses soy!) I'll also make a general recommendation for So Delicious coconut milk. No, I don't work for them, but if I baked, I would use their stuff - it tastes amazing, and not watery like other milks. I'm looking forward to trying out the treats, and I'm sure I'll be logging back on to rave about them!
