Oh, hi there! I guess you're wondering what the big announcement is, so I'll take this opportunity to drag it out and tell you a long winded story.
About 37 seconds after "Babycakes" the cookbook came out I was cradling it my arms like a newborn. Just then my editor, Aliza Fogelson, phoned and the conversation went something like this:
Aliza: Hey Erin! The book is doing great, congratulations!
Me: Thanks!
Aliza: How about writing another one?
Me: No
Aliza: Yes
Me: No
Aliza: Yes
Me: Ok
So! It brings me great joy and pride to announce that I've inked the deal for my second book, "Babycakes Covers the Classics and Other Food Fantasies" with Clarkson Potter!!
For the past few months, I've secretly been expanding my imagination and messing around with ingredients to cover my favorite classic desserts. I had no idea how much fun it was going to be crafting up these new lil guys. You're going to lose it! Expect donuts, pancakes, girl scout cookies, candies and more!
Thanks to everyone who commented way back in summer when I was looking for inspiration! I read all the comments and have included a ton of your suggestions in the next cookbook. I'm so excited, you guys!!! Ok, I gotta get back to the kitchen. Bye!

When does this come out?!>!?! Eagerly expecting....
Mmmmm! Very excited! Can't wait for that!
A HUGE CONGRATS TO YOU, ERIN!!! This is the best news ever! I am beyond excited! You can definitely count on me to buy it for myself and give it as a gift to friends! YAY!!!!!!!!!!
Very excited to bake more of your delish creations!!
YES! I was just reading your first book and was thinking to myself, "I really wish I could find a recipe for pancakes that is delicious as the rest of her creations." I can't wait for it to come out!
CONGRATS :) Thank you for your sweet addition to the world

Please Please Please make the recipes in your new cookbook more reliable. Have you read any of your reviews on Amazon? It's heartbreaking to get so excited about something only to be terribly disappointed. Please care more about your readers in the next cookbook.
Amazing news! Congrats Erin. You bring delicious baked goods into our lives. Thank you for all the deliciousness.
N.
thanks so much for opening up the doors to these amazing treats that so many have lived without for so long or just got really really sick because they couldn't resist! :)
squeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! another cookbook would be so awesome! such happy news, indeed! yay!
Please, please, please include the recipe for the chocolate mint balls that taste just like Andes mints, only made out of cake (they look like ice cream scoops, and have not been in the bakery the last 10x I was there, but bought them all last winter). I bought the first cookbook for 2 things: the chocolate mint balls, and the oatmeal raisin cookies. What a disappointment that neither was in there. I had buyer's remorse, and ended up passing it along as a gift.
Your recipes are a godsend! I went to dinner at a friend's house yesterday for Thanksgiving. I almost didn't go because of all my food issues. I'm not 100% gluten free as I do consume some spelt, but for the most part do not have it. My friend said no problem, she would make sure to have alternative foods for me. And she did, right down to the most amazing dessert I've had in a long time. She made the blackberry peach cobbler from your book and I thought I died and went to heaven. For other people she had made regular apple and pumpkin pie, but you know what the most popular dessert was? Your amazing cobbler. I am of course going to run out and buy the cookbook, but I just wanted to thank you for your amazing recipes and bringing flavor back into my dessert life!!
Great news! Keep up the good work. Can't wait for book no. 2!
Hi Erin, I am living in Singapore and I picked up your cookbook "Babycakes" in the bookstore that simply wow me away.. I have never been to US, so not to mention I have no chance to visit your bakeries, so instead I shall try out the recipes in your cookbook. I will plan a trip to NYC and make my way to your bakery to try out the real thing. Really can't wait to see your next cookbook in the stores! Congrats on your achievements! ~ Cheers! VT
